R. 7:7-5. Pretrial Procedure
(a) Pretrial Conference. At any time after the filing of the complaint, the court
may order one or more conferences with the parties to consider the results of
negotiations between them relating to a proposed plea or to other matters that will
promote a fair and expeditious disposition or trial. With the consent of the parties or
counsel for the parties, the court may permit any pretrial conference to be conducted by
means of telephone or video link.
